Meet Mickey, a resilient and incredibly sweet 18-month-old German Shepherd puppy who is ready for his true fresh start. Found abandoned on a quiet country road, Mickey has shown nothing but heart and potential despite his uncertain beginnings. In his first foster home, he lived peacefully with ten other dogs, showing a naturally social spirit. Mickey is a "dog’s dog" and will thrive much faster in a home with a confident companion dog to show him the ropes; having a four-legged friend to follow will help his brave side emerge.

Mickey is a total gentleman when he feels safe; he is house-trained and walks nicely on a leash. However, he is a sensitive boy who is still learning that the world isn’t a scary place. A home with a secure, fenced-in yard is essential, providing him a private space to decompress and play alongside his new sibling. While loud traffic or busy streets can still make him unsure, Mickey is "sweet as pie" and simply needs a patient family and a canine partner to help him blossom.
