Ghezzi 0346
Ghezzi 0346

Prophet & Ava (Ghezzi)are adjusting well. They have settled into the daily routine well. Addie was a bit bosses at first but have graciously accepted them into the pack. Jack & Aidan get along great with Ava & Prophet. Ava has bonded closely with Aidan and they have a daily play routine. Prophet is excited when Jack comes home from his day program and showers him with kisses.

Ava has had a few accidently the past few days while sleeping on the bed. We are calling the vet tomorrow to get her checked out.

Ava is growing a bit and is up to 51 lbs. Prophet has gained some muscle mass and is up to 80 lbs. They settle down at night and sleep for 8 hours before needing a potty break. They love their walks and run and play in the yard daily.

We have to watch the laundry when they are bored or the socks and dryer balls get stolen.
No allergies or skin issues. They are teaching a limited ingredient grain free kibble from Pure Vita , some veggies and fruit with a variety natural treats from the locally owned pet store. Prophet us a food hound so Addie who eats slowly is fed separately so he doesn't steal her food. Ava won't let him steal hers.

There were some separation anxiety and we lost a few blankets and sheets, with a corner of carpet. Exercise and kenneling when we are gone for more than 4 hours have resolved the issue. Prophet still tries to counter surf and has to be reminded to use his manners. They are both loving and gentle but can get over excited,  so occasionally need to be separated to calm down the dog wrestle mania.

Max1 0314

Hi Janis,
Here are a couple pictures of Max. He has been under training by Nick Navarro and is doing well. He has gone to Baker Park for a nice long walk twice and recently had coffee with us at the Mercato. We are hoping at more outings together with him as we want him to be as social as possible. He has not mastered off leash recall yet as he is too interested in chasing bunnies around our yard. We are working on that! He is good on his heel, sit, down and stay commands. Loved apples, bananas, carrots and his homemade pumpkin peanut butter cookies. Has gained 12 lbs and we no longer can see his ribs. We love him very much and I think he is happy with us as well. Thanks for all you do!

Black Porsha Pup 0331
Black Porsha Pup 0331

How is the pup adjusting to your home currently? He has taken over. Not sure things will ever be the same. Lost a pair of flip flops, a fitbit charger & phone charger – but overall the casualties have been minimal.

If you have any other pets, how has the adjustment been for all of them? Gaby (our 5 yr old GSD from BCGSR) both loves him and is quite annoyed by him all at the same time. I feel the same way about my younger brother so I can relate. (See pics posted on the BCGSR Alumni page and some I attached for fun) Bosley (one of our cats) is quite found of him. I believe he’s plotting to use Loki for his inevitable take over. Nala (9 yr old pit mix) thinks he’s fun to play with. The other cats have decided that they will either hide or ignore him.

If you have any children, is the pup and your child(ren) getting along well? I believe Phia (our 6 yr old daughter) is one of the pack now. Although she is not nearly as fast. But all dogs realize she is the easiest human from which to get a treat. My son is 20 and keeps threatening to steal him. The 20 year old may not be long for this world if he tries.

Is the puppy experiencing any issues with the following areas of concern:

·         Feeding Definitely not – unless you consider eating me out of house and home?

·         Sleeping He snores sometimes, but no worse than my husband

·         Exercising At the moment he is not as fast a Gaby, but he’s getting there

·         Housetraining All good here – crate training helped

·         Behavioral tendencies He is awful on a leash but we’re working with him. Other than that, he’s been good.

·         Allergies/skin problems Serious answer – he is quite possibly the most ticklish dog I have ever known. I haven’t notice any dandruff but was going to ask the vet if he’s just a ticklebug or if he needs some special shampoo or something.

Bailey 0237

Everything is going well with Bailey, shes been holding a good weight at 57 lbs from our vet appointment about 2 weeks ago. Sleep I would say is normal, tends to sleep till noon or 1 pm with me since I'm on nights.
exercise is plentiful, she usually gets walked about 3 times a day for about a mile or so. plus shes a play baby so is constantly chasing her ball around the house. She tends to be very protective of both me and Jill. She's been showing separation anxiety when I have to leave but we've been working on that.
Since we feel she's finally acclimated to the house and neighborhood we began command training, She's getting better with listening and attentiveness.
