Consider Volunteering with Big Cypress German Shepherd Rescue
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Big Cypress German Shepherd Rescue.
We are a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, which operates a no-kill rescue and foster care program for stray, abandoned, neglected, and surrendered German Shepherd Dogs and puppies. We also educate the community regarding the importance of spay and neuter, vaccines, nutrition, and preventative medical care, as well as pet interaction and the importance of training. Volunteers with a variety of skills are needed to ensure the success of our rescue. Your help is GREATLY appreciated. Please take the time to fill out the Volunteer Application and read and sign the agreement.

If you are nearby and can foster, Information on Fostering dogs is here.

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization.Without our treasured volunteers, we would not be able to save the homeless GSDs that pass through our rescue.
There are so many ways a volunteer can help in our mission. There are even ways out-of-towners can help us out.

Local Adoption Events: We always need helpers to set up and take down tables and help keep any messes cleaned up, transport dogs to events, help sell our items and speak with the public about our mission, our wonderful dogs and answer any questions they may have about rescue or our wonderful breed.

Transporting Dogs: There is always a need for volunteers who can help move dogs from pounds to foster homes, events, training, groomers and veterinary visits.

Adoption Processing: The adoption process requires application processors and volunteers to do home visits. Applications can be processed from anywhere by telephone and email.

Photographers: We always need excellent photographs for our website and social media. Photographers, professional or amateur, are always appreciated.

Grant Writing and Fundraising: We need people who can provide help in acquiring grants, planning and hosting funraisers and coming up with ideas and opportunities to generate revenue.

Advertising and Marketing: Assistance appreciated in developing advertisements, looking for spots for free advertising, creation and distribution of flyers, assisting with the newsletter, web news articles, thank you letters, fresh ideas, etc.

Administrative functions: telephone calls, written correspondence, data management

Animal Assistance: dog walker, groomers, attention givers to dogs that may end up in boarding due to lack of fosters.
